We docked at the Port of Venice, met with thundering clouds and a flash flood of rain. Temperatures dropped and the wind came. A blanket of clouds covered the city and a whole new set of colors emerged under the grey blue sky.

We took the water bus for a tour of the city. Canals wove between entire buildings in lieu streets. Boats, not cars, was the main form of transportation. Private boats and water taxis were everywhere. Homes with their own docks. "Trucks" ferrying goods around.

Here, a wedding photoshoot was taking place.

And then it was the famous Bridge of Sighs, where lovers will be granted eternal love upon kissing underneath at sunset.

I supposed that today would not be our day, but one day, we'll be back to visit this wondrous city in another light. :)
